My Favorite Images of 2009

Happy New Year!

I had to end the year with a countdown of my favorite images of the past year. There were so many to choose from, and of course all the images of my own kids rank up there, but these are the favorites from client sessions.

One of my favorite seniors! And I love reflections!

I love the artsy spontaneity of this one! Kids being kids! I guess I like shadow reflections, too!

How can you resist?!

Probably one of my favorite images of all time! Catching a wish in mid-air!

Amazing session with an amazing little girl!

This little peanut looked like something Anne Geddes would have photographed!

I love the peaceful beauty of this one and the link with both mom and dad.

This one is a classic. The connection, the spontaneity all get to me!

Pretty little princess in one of my favorite locations!

I will always treasure this amazing moment between mother and baby!

May you all have a happy and prosperous 2010! ~ Kristen

Almost One and Lots of Fun!

This little guy is about to turn one, and it was great doing some holiday shots of he and his big sister! Mom loved the shots so much that she had me make his birthday invites with the photos. What a unique birthday invitation! Hope you guys had a wonderful holiday and got lots of toys from Santa!

Does your little one have a birthday coming up? Why not bring them in for a photo shoot before their birthday and use the photos for the invites or placecards, etc?

Getting into the spirit!

Another ho-ho-holiday session with these three sweets! Who knew it was a dreary winter day outside?!
Wishing all of you the happiest of holidays!

Blizzard of 2009

We had 16" of snow on Saturday! They cancelled school for the remainder of the year (which was today and tomorrow). It's beautiful and we hope it lasts through Christmas day!

Budding Artist!

Senior sessions are the best. Gorgeous young people who want their photos taken! I hit it off right away with this young, beautiful lady, as she is about to go into college as an Art major! Oh, how I wish I'd been less practical and had pursued that at her age. Economics - seriously!! Anyway, she braved the cold wintry day and was a gorgeous model for me. I know she'll have an incredible future ahead in art, and I can't wait to see her work some day!!

Holiday Highlights!

There is something magical about 3-year-olds that just captures my heart! This little sweetie came in with her parents for a great holiday shoot. I love her expressions and how she interacted with Mom and Dad. The holidays are such a magical time for little ones like this, and I only wish those days lasted forever! To see "tiny tots with their eyes all aglow" in my lens is a wonderous thing!

New beginnings!

koru photography is born!

What is koru?
The koru is the Maori (New Zealand's indigenous people) name given to the new unforling fern frond and symbolizes new life, growth, strength and peace. As New Zealand is a special place for me and my family, and my grandfather was born and raised there, koru has even more personal meaning for me.

As I begin this new chapter in my photographic journey, I am grateful for all of the support of family, friends, and clients.
